Jason & Nolan Livesay, identical twins from Southern California, began their music career at the age of eight when they started studying the violin.  By the time they graduated from high school, they were performing professionally, had won national violin competitions, and were composing for full orchestra.  They attended Azusa Pacific University where they studied violin and composition and later studied film scoring at University of California Los Angeles, as well as conducting with Jorge Mester.

Jason and Nolan's employed assistantship with composer Lee Sanders for CBS Television's "The Amazing Race" opened the door to many working relationships in the film industry. Since that time, the twins have composed for Dreamworks, Paramount Pictures, Columbia Pictures, 20th Century Fox, MGM, Warner Brothers, FoxFaith Films, Nickelodeon, ABC, CBS, FOX, History Channel, E!, Discovery Channel and MTV, winning a Gold Classic Telly Award for "Best Music" and the Director's Choice GOLD AWARD for "Best Impact of Music in a Feature Film" at the Park City Film Music Festival. They have over 50 film and television credits, including additional music for JAC Redford's score for "One Night with the King" starring Peter O'Toole, electronic programming for Disney/Pixar's "Burn-e", orchestrations for John Ottman (Superman Returns, X-Men 2) on the animated feature "Astro Boy" starring Nicolas Cage and Donald Sutherland, orchestrations and conducting for Ottman's recent score for "The Resident" starring Hilary Swank, orchestrations for the upcoming Ottman score for "Unknown White Male" starring Liam Neeson, and original music for several major motion picture trailers. Jason and Nolan both holds conducting positions with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and have premiered their own original concert works with the Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra, the Sonus Quartet, the Golden State Pops Orchestra, the APU Symphony Orchestra, and the Michael Skidgel Singers.

As violinists, Jason & Nolan have performed with many regional orchestras, including the Lake Avenue Chamber Orchestra, the Redlands Symphony, the San Bernardino Symphony, the Torrance Symphony, the YMF Debut Orchestra, the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and also work freelance for recording sessions. They have performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall and Perth Concert Hall (Scotland) and have worked with such conductors as John Williams and Michael Tilson Thomas, and have accompanied such artists as Josh Groban, Peter Cetera, Bela Fleck, Linda Eder, Andrae Crouch, Jubilant Sykes, and Chris Botti, and have been seen on The American Music Awards, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
